Mario Kart Tracks: Top 7 Mario Kart Tracks of All Time

Keep an out for the Blue Shells! Yes, because this is Mario Kart. It is one of the best games that are loved by millions of people across the world. The game can be found anywhere from a toddler’s bedroom to a family event or college party. This, in a way, makes it a household name with a tight spot as the most endearing racing game.

But what makes it juicier is its wide array of tracks throughout the different versions that have been released over the years. There have been a total of 170 tracks, which makes it a bit difficult to find the ideal option. But don’t sweat! I have compiled a list of some of the best, most pleasing to play on, iconic, and difficult-to-master tracks to help you make your choice.

Let’s delve!

7. Hyrule Circuit

Okay, let’s start our countdown with the least, although still one of the best, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Hyrule Circuit. This incredible circuit allows you to race through the Hyrule fields all through into the Hyrule castle. You will find Master Sword strategically located at the center. After that, you will venture into the mysterious forest where bats and Piranha plants with a Zelda theme will block most of your path.

Unfortunately, there is not much to be explored with the Hyrule Circuit. And it might leave you wishing there was more on the map. A little Zelda iconography would work magic. Even so, it is still quite an incredible map to practice your racing skills.

6. Maple Treeway

Going back to the Mario Kart Wii’s amazing tracks, there is one track in particular that can never go unnoticed: Maple Treeway. This track is undoubtedly a piece of art. The track starts you off with a beautiful treetop setting with a pile of leaves, fall colors, and huge “Wigglers.” There is also soothing music that spices up the atmosphere.

But with all the beauty it offers, it is possible to find yourself falling off the track and crashing into the Wigglers. Regardless, the course is quite fun and smooth, and you will find it quite easy to race.

 5. Coconut Mall

This is yet another iconic track from Mario Kart Wii. If you have never played it, you might have probably come across its meme. The game was so popular that it became an internet meme. One of its most notable features is its catchy music and an unforgettable mall setting. You will find the game to be quite fun doing tricks while driving through a huge colander and off the mall fountains.

The massive mall has many fountains and escalators, which makes it more fun. If you are a Mario Kart enthusiast, you perhaps know Coconut Mall is the second course of Mario Kart Wii’s Flower Cup. Its location at the shopping center Isle Delfino also contributes to its popularity. Although it is a remaking of Mario Kart 7 and 8, it is still a legendary track in the series.

4. Animal Crossing

Mario Kart 8’s Animal Crossing is yet another iconic game. The legendary game takes place in the middle of the town Animal Crossing: New Leaf from the 2012 Nintendo DS game. The game is unique because it is the first of its kind to integrate tracks within other Mario-unrelated Nintendo games. It also seamlessly integrates characters from other games, with each having a matching parachute, bike, car, and wheels.

Apart from that, it is also the second in Mario Kart 8 games that come with their tracks. Talking of characters, players can race as a male villager, Isabelle, or a female villager. You will notice the track is quite different from other tracks in the Mario Kart series.

It changes with each play. Sometimes, you will be racing through cherry bottom-filled dreamland, and other times through snow winter wonderland.

3. Mount Wario

If you have ever played Baby Park, you will notice that this park is quite similar. The Ski Hill-inspired game is specially designed with incredible gameplay that involves players racing down the hill using various ski jumps. Players steer through slippery ice surfaces and in between slalom poles in quite an interesting gameplay.

Similar to tracks such as Rainbow Road, you will find the game to have three sections, which makes it better than the laps. This change, among other upgrades, makes Mount Wario feel like a breath of fresh air. Since its release in 2014, it has continued to gain ground and is a favorite of many Mario Kart fans. This challenging shift of the gaming dynamics in Mario Kart 8 is hopefully expected to be adopted by Nintendo in the future.

2. Tick-Tock Clock

Tick-Tock Clock, featured in just two Mario Kart games, may not hold the title of the oldest or most renowned course in the Mario Kart series. Still, its introduction of it into Mario Kart 8 in 2014 has given rise to a new popularity amongst fans. TickTockclock, as the name implies, is a track full of moving panels and clocks that can help or hinder players’ progress.

In addition to the layer of challenges that arises from the dynamic and constantly changing elements of the game, the game is specially designed with amazing graphics and interesting gameplay. The track has earned its place as one of the most enjoyable and entertaining courses in the game. In fact, it was only available in one Mario Kart game (Mario Kart DS) that was quite famous for its controversial drifting techniques.

1. Rainbow Road

First on our list is Rainbow Road. This Mario Kart 7 track features a complete rainbow theme track with distinct features. The track offers players incredible gameplay that allows players to experience a world of stunning visuals with soothing background music. What’s more, one of its main unique features is the gliding section.

It is designed to provide significant airtime and a shortcut if you skillfully cruise the right side of the Saturn planet. You will come across the moon section, with its gentle gravitational pull that creates the illusion of racing through outer space. Imagine gliding through the Moon and Saturn Rings. Rainbow Road undoubtedly provides a racing experience unlike any other in the Rainbow series tracks in Mario Kart 7.

Conclusion

There is quite a wide range of new and advanced games today. However, we never forget the fun and the excitement that came with Mario Kart tracks. The good old days are revisited spectacularly with the Mario Kart games.

If you want to experience the best of these games, we suggest trying out any of the above options in our countdown. All you need to do is pick a track that suits you best based on your preference.
